Service Commitment

At SMG we are committed to serving the needs of our client hosptial’s physicians, nursing staff, and patients and to deliver the highest quality level of service. We work closely with them to make sure that they are satisfied and that all of our patients are looked after and treated with respect. We truly value their input - this is what help us to improve the quality of our service we offer. Our service commitment come out of our core values: education, experience, flexibility, and quality.

Quality

Our Nurse Managers meet regularly with the nursing administration, as well as with biomedical engineering, and infection control departments to ensure we are meeting their expectations and performing a high quality service.

We perform regular inspections of our on-site storage facilities to ensure that the everything is kept clean and that inventory of dialysis supplies are adequate. All of our machines are rinsed and disinfected daily and are given a full chemical disinfection at least once per week. Our biomedical team makes sure our dialysis equipment is well maintained and bacteria free according to current AAMI standards. Our nurse manager also routinely evaluates our dialysis staff to determine their performance levels. If necessary we address any learning needs or performance shortfalls in order to take corrective action where and when it’s needed.

Experience

In addition to our nursing staff, our managers, medical directors and support staff have a long history of working in the Acute Dialysis field in Southern California. Our dialysis staff is comprised of only well trained, competent and fully qualified registered nurses and licensed hemodialysis technicians. All members of our dialysis team are licensed and qualified to perform hemodialysis treatments within the acute hospital setting.

Flexibility

Our dialysis team is prepared to handle large fluctuations in patient volumes. We make sure that when patient census is high that we have enough staff on hand to perform all treatments as scheduled. Many of our dialysis staff cross orient at multiple hospitals to ensure a consistent level of service and patient response time. That way, they travel to where they are needed. In addition, we employ a number of part time and per diem staff who assist us during higher volume periods.

Education

Our team is committed to furthering the education of our patients, especially for those who are new to dialysis and kidney disease in general. By teaching them about what we do, we believe that the experience will be much less stressful. Our nurses also pledge to continue their own education, in order to maintain their nursing knowledge and to keep up with changes in healthcare. Our team will also work with our client hospitals to ensure that our staff is consistent with their requirements.
