As a provider of acute dialysis services, SMG has been very successful at recruiting and retaining some the best dialysis nurses available. This is not an easy feat when you consider that right here in Southern California we compete alongside some of the largest dialysis companies in the world.
Dialysis is a specialty with two distinct career paths: Chronic and Acute. Chronic dialysis nurses work in clinics and dialysis centers, whereas acute dialysis nurses perform treatments in the hospital setting, often right at the patient’s bedside. Acute dialysis nurses operate more independently on a one-to-one nurse to patient ratio. Chronic nurses operate in a team environment and supervise simultaneous treatments of multiple patients.
We give preference to registered nurses with at least one year of acute dialysis experience or have two years of chronic dialysis experience with a strong nursing background that includes ICU/CCU or MED-SURG experience.
